Pineapple Beach Club is built around Long Bay, a beachfront setting on the Willikies side of Antigua. It is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, so the pace is grown-up from the first morning. The beach is your front yard here, with a private beach area, sun loungers or beach chairs and sun umbrellas ready for long, lazy hours by the water.

When you want a change from the sand, the pool deck takes over. The outdoor pool includes an infinity edge, a shallow end and a view, and a pool bar keeps drinks close to hand. A sun terrace gives you another place to settle with a book. Active guests have plenty to choose from: water sport facilities on site, plus canoeing, snorkelling, diving and fishing. On land there is a tennis court with tennis equipment, hiking, a fitness center and fitness classes, with aerobics on the activity roster.

Evenings are where the resort's social side comes out. Entertainment staff run the programme, which includes live music or performances, themed dinner nights, bingo, karaoke and a happy hour. Pineapple Beach Club offers six room types, each sleeping up to two guests, so it works well for couples and for friends booking several rooms together. Every room has air conditioning, a fan, a private entrance, a private bathroom, a TV, a telephone, a refrigerator, a coffee and tea maker, a safety deposit box and a hair dryer.

Gardenview is 355 square feet, with a balcony overlooking the gardens and a bathroom with a bath. For sea views, Oceanview, Beachfront and Waterfront are also 355 square feet. Each has a balcony facing the sea, a walk-in shower and a seating area. Outdoor furniture and pool towels are provided in these rooms.

Pool Terrace is the most compact option at 323 square feet. Instead of a balcony it has a terrace with a view over an inner courtyard, and it also has a walk-in shower. All rooms have tile or marble floors, a wardrobe or closet, and shampoo and conditioner. Choose the sea-facing categories for the beach outlook, Gardenview for greenery, or Pool Terrace for the courtyard setting.

Dining

Dining and drinks at Pineapple Beach Club are spread across several venues. The resort has a restaurant for sit-down meals, a snack bar for something lighter and a coffee shop on site. The bar and the pool bar are the places for a sundowner or a poolside drink, and wine and champagne are among the drinks available. Themed dinner nights and a happy hour add some occasion to the week.
