Xpu Ha's beachfront resorts suit travelers who want to step from the room to the shoreline and spend the day around the water. This list covers an adults-only retreat on the Caribbean Sea and two family-minded Barceló resorts, all five-star and all with a private beach area. Whether you want spa time and quiet or water parks and kids' clubs, there is a beachfront option here.
Every hotel on this page is classed as beachfront and has a beachfront private beach area. We then looked at each property's own amenities, such as dining, spa, activities and family or adults-only focus, to describe how the stay feels.
Catalonia Royal Tulum Beach & Spa Resort Adults Only - All Inclusive earns its place here with a beachfront setting on the Caribbean Sea and a private beach area, reserved for adult guests only. Days can move from snorkelling, diving and water sports to yoga, aerobics or a fitness class, then on to the spa for a massage, steam room and hot tub. Seven on-site restaurants and themed dinner nights lead into evening entertainment.
Barceló Maya Palace - All Inclusive is a five-star beachfront resort with a private beach area and plenty for families. Children have a water park, a kids' club and a kids' pool, while adults can try tennis, snorkelling, windsurfing or fitness classes, or head to the spa for a sauna, steam room and massage. Seven restaurants, plus bars and a snack bar, cover mealtimes, and Select Club Premium suites add a lounge and concierge.
Barceló Maya Colonial - All Inclusive also sits on the beachfront with a private beach area, and it leans into family days. A water park, an outdoor pool and a kids' pool come alongside a kids' club, an indoor play area and a playground. Seven restaurants plus a bar, snack bar and pool bar keep meals flexible, the spa offers a sauna, steam room and massage, and evenings bring a nightclub with a DJ, live music and themed dinners.
Decide first whether you want an adults-only atmosphere or a family resort. Catalonia Royal Tulum is adults only, while both Barceló Maya resorts offer kids' clubs and kids' pools.
All three resorts include free WiFi and free parking, which is helpful if you plan to explore the coast by car.
If water activities are a priority, compare the options: snorkelling is available at all three, diving at Catalonia Royal Tulum and Barceló Maya Colonial, and windsurfing at both Barceló resorts.
Check the exact room type names on each booking page before you reserve, especially if you want the Select Club Premium suites at Barceló Maya Palace.
