When to go

Puerto Morelos has a tropical climate, and the drier months from roughly December to April are the most popular time for beach days, with warm sunshine and lower humidity. From about May the weather turns hotter and more humid, with passing showers more common through the summer. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November, with the highest risk generally in late summer and autumn, so it pays to keep your plans flexible if you travel then. Water temperatures stay warm for much of the year, which suits snorkelling and other water sports in any season.
